I thought this was an activist video showing how advertising and the world corporations try to sell us is fake... following the links I finally realized it's a promo reel for an effects corporation. Like this is fabulous and everyone wants it and hire Riot Manhattan to help you also sell un-reality to the masses. Wow.
Thanks for posting it as a 'reality' check for us all.
I have you subscribed on my Juice Podcast Receiver. I love your podcast, but you have not done anything lately. WHAT'S UP!!!? I look forward to any future podcast.
David Lee Roth once observed how the girls in all the rock videos never really existed...but were the product of: [1] talent search and selection of the top ones; [2] 3 hours of make-up; [3] 8 hours of filming; and [4] the editing all that down to the choicest 5 second clips. Viola!
It's so true... make-up makes such a big difference. When I go on camera without eyeliner I feel naked... I have such pale skin and light eyes that if I don't wear make-up, everything seems to seep into everything else! Recently I've been getting make-up tips from a friend who works in the media... I don't care to look perfect, but I do enjoy making myself look more 3-D when I have that many lights on me.
Thanks for this! I just showed this to my 11 year old daughter as reinforcement for what I've been telling here about how warped our society's beauty standards are.
ouah! i used to work in graphic design for the fashion industry, i know that every little piece of skin, hair (everything!) is retouched... but i'm still amazed by retouching video.. amazing also how many girls don't have any idea that EVERY picture everywhere is just not real!... well, thx for sharing..

Goes to show how unreliable our senses are. Reminds me of the movie Shallow Hal!

That goes to show us that no one is perfect, not even those that get paid to be.
